The Wheaton Municipal Band is a 92-piece symphonic band which performs at Wheaton's downtown Memorial Park.  Comprised of musicians committed to musical excellence, the Wheaton Municipal Band plays a variety of music ranging from marches, musicals, and classics to contemporary compositions.  The band features prominent guest conductors and soloists during the season, interspersed with outstanding soloists from within the band.  Programs provide a mixture of popular and classical music and are designed to provide an enjoyable musical experience for everyone.

    Founded in 1930, the Wheaton Municipal Band continues to enjoy a long tradition of excellence.  Located in the metropolitan Chicago area, the Wheaton Municipal Band is recognized as one of the finest community bands in America.  The Band has often been featured in newspapers and magazines, including the Chicago Tribune, the Daily Herald, and the Instrumentalist magazine, and has been recorded for FM radio and cable TV, as well.  It has also been highlighted in several television programs, including "Two On Two" by WBBM-TV, Chicago.  Recently, the band was featured with the United States Marine Band, the Allentown (PA) Band, and the Blossom Festival Band in a documentary on the life of John Phillip Sousa, produced by WGBH-TV, Boston, for the PBS series The American Experience. "If You Knew Sousa," has been aired internationally, and will be viewed on PBS stations for years to come.  Funded by the City of Wheaton, The Wheaton Municipal Band is a source of pride and family enjoyment for the entire community. 

    Each year special guest artists are invited to perform with the Band, adding fun and excitement for both the casual listener and the serious musician.  A partial list of Wheaton Municipal Band guest soloists includes:
