The Friends of Wheaton Municipal Band will be awarding up to two, $500 scholarships to graduating seniors who are planning to study music in college.  Payment will be made directly to recipient upon proof of registration for band/orchestra or other performance ensemble.

Eligibility

• Applicant must be currently enrolled in Band/Orchestra at the high school level.
• Applicant must either be a Wheaton resident, or attend a high school in Wheaton.
• Application must be received by April 30, 2009 (see address below).
• Applicant must be accepted at a recognized college or university and intending to Major in music.

Disbursement of Funds

• Winners will be announced on or around May 15, 2009.
• Payment will be issued to individual upon receipt of proof of registration for Music Major.

Judging

Selection will be based on Application Information, Tape and Essay.  One winner will be chosen. The Friends of Wheaton Band reserve the right to withhold award if no applicants are deemed meritorious. The decision of the Selection Committee is final.
